The 136 IPU conference was held in Dhaka from 1st April to 5th April
2017. About 1500 Parliamentarians from nearly 163 countries attended
this conference, and an event of such magnitude is unprecedented is the
history of Bangladesh. The entire event was held under the able guidance
of our Honorable Prime Minister H.E. SK. Hasina and very well
coordinated by our speaker Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury and Mr. Saber
Hossain Chowdhury the current President of the IPU.
Program followed by reception of Portuguese & Brazilian delegation at my place & in 4th April they visited factory.
As Honorary
Consul of Portugal in Bangladesh it was my Honor and privilege to have
participated in this historic and epoch making proceedings as part of
the 11 member Portugese Parliamentary Delegation. The conference was a
huge success and has certainly greatly elevated Bangladesh's image and
status in the world stage.
